Anchor Winch

Hand winch
10 ton winch suitable for 47 m of 20 mm recovery wire
attached to delta plate. Anchor
equipment
Two stockless type, complete with crown shackle and
each weighing 5340 kg all by Byers. One stowed in anchor
recess aft and attached to 610 m of 40 mm anchor wire
stowed on winch drum. Second stowed on deck aft.
Ventilation
Mechanical supply PS and SB engine room, natural exhaust
through access hatch fans.
Main towing bridle
- Two 23 m x 73 mm U3 stud
link chain.
- One delta plate.
- One 6.0 m x 73 mm U3 stud
link chain.
- Three 75 ton Crosby shackles.

Watertight manholes
Manholes on deck have a clear opening of diam. 620 x 420
mm and are flush fitting. Manholes in way of tanks are
fitted with 38 mm diameter sounding cap. Mast
and light posts
Mast and light posts are bolted to deck. Spare mast
stowed in rack on deck aft.
Air pipes and vents:
Air pipes have “Winel” type heads. All air
pipes and vents are bolted to deck.

Machinery installation
Auxilliary
pumping set (ballast/winch)
- Engine:
Desmi Ltd., type JWS6WA, six cylinders, water cooled,
turbo charged, rated at 70 bhp when running at 1500
r.p.m. by Lister.
- Pump:
Type SA200-320/50, self priming,
single stage, centrifugal, with a cast iron body,
bronze wearplate and impeller, complete with stainless
steel shaft and having a capicity of 500 m3/hr against
a total head of 15 m.
- Bilge pump
Type S80-70-220, horizontal, self-priming, with a
iron casing, aluminium bronze impeller, stainless
steel shaft and crane mechanical seal and having a
capacity of 40 ton/hour with a discharge head of 10m.
Pump flexibly coupled to a G.E.C., 3 kW at 1450 r.p.m.,
240 volts, 3 phase, 50 cycles per second electric
motor.
Auxillary alternator
- Engine:
Type HRW4MA, four cylinders, water cooled, naturally
aspirated diesel engine, rated at 45 bhp when running
at 1500 r.p.m. by Lister.
- Alternator:
Marine, drip-proof, self excited, with a rated output
of 28 kW at 0.8 power factor, 240 volts, 3 phase, 50
cycles per second when running at a speed of 1500 r.p.m.
