Jack-up rigs ‘Buzzard’ and ‘Vagant’ are presently being repositioned for the sixth cut. This operation is scheduled to commence during the weekend, weather permitting. Winds of up to six Beaufort are reported in the area, but so far the salvage team has experienced no setbacks as a result of the deteriorating weather conditions. The next lift is scheduled to take place within a couple of days.

The bow of the TRICOLOR is being transported to the scrap site on top of the ‘SMITbarge 2’.

The salvage of the TRICOLOR is being carried out by the ‘Combinatie Berging Tricolor’, a consortium consisting of: SMIT Salvage B.V., Scaldis Salvage & Marine Contractors N.V., URS Salvage & Maritime Contracting N.V., and Multraship Salvage B.V. The salvage contract was awarded to the consortium by Wilh. Wilhelmsen and Gard Services.
