At 04:15 Wednesday morning the salvage team of ‘Combinatie Berging TRICOLOR’ completed the seventh cut of the TRICOLOR. The cutting operation suffered some delay, which was due to the unfavourable weather conditions experienced last week.
Later today and tomorrow, the jack-up rigs ‘Buzzard’ and ‘Vagant’ will be positioned for the eighth and final cut.

At the moment the floating cranes ‘Rambiz’ is on the salvage site to clean up the remainders of the third, fourth and fifth sections which were left behind after the respective lifting operations.
Weather permitting, the salvage team will start lifting the remaining sections next week.

The salvage of the TRICOLOR is being carried out by the ‘Combinatie Berging Tricolor’, a consortium consisting of: SMIT Salvage B.V., Scaldis Salvage & Marine Contractors N.V., URS Salvage & Maritime Contracting N.V., and Multraship Salvage B.V. The salvage contract was awarded to the consortium by Wilh. Wilhelmsen and Gard Services.
